For buyers operating exclusively outside China, the relevant certifications are R65 and R10. For buyers sourcing from China for domestic Chinese market use, GB-13954-2009 is the applicable standard.

1. Request the certificate number. Every legitimate certification has a certificate number issued by the testing laboratory or certification body. With a number, you can trace the claim.
2. Identify the issuing body. Certificate numbers from SAE, TUV, SGS, Bureau Veritas, and other accredited labs carry more weight than self-declaration certificates. Ask who issued the certificate and whether the lab is accredited.
3. Confirm the specific model. Certifications apply to specific models, not to a product family or product line as a whole. A certificate for one length in a series does not mean every length is covered.
4. Check the validity date. Some certifications expire. Confirm the certificate is current, not an expired document that was never renewed.
5. Compare test conditions to your application. A certification tells you the light passed a test under specific conditions. Make sure those conditions are relevant to how you intend to use the light.
A reputable manufacturer supplies certificate copies without hesitation. If a supplier can only show a logo, treat the certification claim as unverified.
